Boston Carousel Construction Underway

We have just begun a long term photographic project that involves documenting the construction of the Boston Carousel to be located on the Rose Kennedy Greenway near Quincy Market. Sculptor Jeffrey Briggs of Newburyport, MA is the creative force behind the project and he brings years of experience in sculpting carousel figures including the entire Cullen Family Carousel located on the Detroit riverfront's Rivard Plaza. For a detailed photographic and video archive of the project to date please visit bostoncarousel.com. The first character under construction is, of course, a lobster, now being followed by a grasshopper. Stay tuned for the construction remainder of the figures which will ultimately include their sculpting, casting, painting and installation on the carousel platform. Also involved in the project are John Snyder, Jeff's assistant, Bill Rogers, painter and me, providing the archive and fine prints (for sale!).
Here's where we are so far. Contact me if you're interested in prints. Thanks!
John
