eBooks @ Raleigh Design

Well, we've just completed our first eBook project for a client. Six software downloads (free, thankfully) and much experimentation later it's a snap! Not all the software downloaded quite as planned nor was it intuitive to use, but we found lots of info on the web about the ins and outs of publishing an eBook, and in the end it all worked.

Our client's choice was to present the eBook for sale on Amazon and readable using Kindle software. Although not the open systems standard for eBooks, the Kindle software is available for a wide variety of devices including Kindle readers, iPad, iPhone, Windows PCs, Blackberry, Android, Mac, and Windows Phone 7. Not a bad selection.

So the bottom line is that for $2.99 you can buy some fine poetry from Amazon's Kindle eBook store and don't forget to download the free Kindle reader for your device of choice.
